Now I don’t know about you, but one of the biggest frustrations in life is attempting to sneak yourself a scoop of your favourite ice cream but finding that it is frozen solid and it just won’t budge.

Now, 117 years after the first ice-cream scoop was invented, a father from the US has invented a new model that’s designed to make stubborn ice-cream a thing of the past.

Michael Chou’s ‘Midnight Scoop’ – which will retail for £30 – went through 38 iterations in two years before the design was finalised. Chou says that rather than scooping with your wrist in a sideways motion, the Midnight Scoop is pushed away from you using the power of your arm and chest muscles.

The main thing we can learn from this scoop is to never stop innovating.

Chou spotted a way he could make the humble ice cream scoop an even better product and set about doing just that. You too, should always be looking for ways to improve your products, services and business.
