Diversity.

It’s a big key to growth and success.

Want some evidence? How about evidence of a smooth, silky, delicious nature?

I’m talking about chocolate – or more specifically ‘Chocolat’.

Angus Thirlwell, co-founder and CEO of Hotel Chocolat, sells chocolate products for £160.He also sells products for £3.75.      This accessibility and diversity is hugely impressive considering the average bar of chocolate in your local newsagents is under a quid. It’s not only impressive—it’s also crucial to growth!

As you’ll see from the link below, diversification is necessary for several reasons.                                                                                      In the case of Hotel Chocolate there were customer requests, along with the fact that certain products take a while to get off the ground—like their 100% cocoa chocolate!

Summing up what your business does, as well as what it’s capable of, is a dangerous game. It puts you (and it) in a box, and the longer those boundaries exist, the harder they are to break down.

But don’t let boundaries of fear and tradition stop you from growing, exploring, diversifying, and changing your business for the better!

I mean, Hotel Chocolat has shown great agility and versatility and it has been instrumental in their success—and could be in yours!

Have a great week!
