A study has been carried out on behalf of HMRC to establish small firms’ awareness about, and experience of, Employment Allowance and the impact it has had on their business. Since April 2014, eligible employers have been able to claim Employment Allowance of up to £2,000 per year to offset against their employer’s National Insurance contribution (NIC) payments. As part of the study, over 1,500 employers were surveyed.

Survey results revealed that 69% of employers with fewer than 50 employees had claimed Employment Allowance, while 76% said they would recommend the scheme to other employers. Non-claimants were most likely to be micro-firms with fewer than five employees, and a quarter of employers who had claimed the allowance said they had used the money for a specific purpose.

In the recent budget it stated that in April 2016 they were going to increase the employment allowance to £3000 instead of £2000.. now you really don’t want to be missing out on this FREE money from HMRC.

If you are unsure on how to claim back your allowance we offer monthly payroll services from £21.00 plus vat a month and could take away that headache for you.
