New wage rates for construction workers confirmed

The new two-year pay agreement for construction workers negotiated between the Federation of Master Builders and the Building and Allied Trades Joint Industrial Council (BATJIC) will take effect from 29th June 2015.

The agreement will increase

adult general operatives’ wages by 25p per hour to £8.65.

Skilled wage rates will also increase by 25p (to £9.90 per hour) for S/NVQ2 workers

and by 30p (to £11.50 per hour) for S/NVQ3 workers.

Wages for young adult operatives, apprentices and trainees will rise by 3%. In addition, the holiday entitlement for all construction workers will increase to 22 days in addition to 8 bank holidays.
